About This:

I was practicing with Photoshop today and thought maybe someone could use these for something. I provided the PSD for these backgrounds. I really hope some one has fun with these.

    Very nice Jake! I dig ‘em. The translucent effect of the content block is nice.

  2. Mec says:

    Thanks Chris! It was kind of hard going from Fireworks to Photoshop but I needed to learn how to use it.

    This is really cool but just one thing, I’m getting an error on the PDS file.

    Right click didn’t work so I tried just clicking it and this is what I got;

    “Address Not Found
    Firefox can’t find the server at designerfied.”

    Is it just me or did something die?

  8. jake says:

    Ah! Sorry! Bad link. Fixed now!

  9. Wil says:

    Ah awesome. Thanks heaps!

    Hey Jake.

    I’m loving this BG, I’m just about to finish a WP theme with it but I’m having a bit of trouble with Layer 1 of the PSD.
    It’s completely black, I’ve checked all the options but nothing is working other than the opacity but that just make is go all the way through from black to completely faded black.
    The flowered vine and darkened text box are there and work fine.
    If your happy to do it, would I be able to get just the image you used for the greenish coloured background (layer 1)?

    Cheers mate, Wil.

  11. jake says:

    Hey Wil, I have tried to find that image but since I moved servers I must have lost it some where.

    I think you might be able to find something close to it here http://www.textureking.com/index.php/category/concrete/

    If I find it I will send it to you.

    If you want send me a link when you are finished with your theme, I would love to see it!

    Good Luck!

    I’m doing a wikispace thing right now & i want to use the black one as my background. But i need the big long code how do i get that?

  13. Jake Hurst says:

    You need the css?

    background: #000 url(image/thebackgroundimage.jpg) top center no-repeat;

    image/thebackgroundimage.jpg change that to the real location of the image background.

    Also you could do this.

    background: #000 url(image/thebackgroundimage.jpg) top center no-repeat fixed;

    image/thebackgroundimage.jpg change that to the real location of the image background.

    I am slowly getting my website put together hopefully by this Tuesday and I’ve wanted a great background. I love the black one. Yahoo! small business doesn’t really provide the greatest templates, so I’m hoping this will look great with my site. I will definitely be sure to include a link to your site as a thank you. Thank you so much, hun!!

    Hey!! I was looking at this website and I really like the dark background. I am graduating this year and I have to make my portfolio website. Do you care if I use this background in my site? I’ve changed a little bit the color for a green gradient at the background so it looks simpler but i really love the flowers. So please let me know if I can use it.

    Thanks

    Lorena
